We love steak in this family, but one thing we have never mastered is the grill. We can turn good meat into shoe leather on the grill every time. I think we have a pathological fear of eating undercooked meat, so we always err on the overcooked side. So I found a recipe where I could cook Sirloin steak in the skillet. I have altered it to our tastes. I hope you love it!
- Sirloin Steak cut up into about 1 inch pieces
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 2 Tablespoons A1 Steak Sauce
- Onion slices (I puree mine down so my kids don’t know it’s there)
- Salt and Pepper to taste (sea salt and cracked peppercorns are best)
Place everything except the meat, salt, and pepper into your skillet and mix it around. Then add the meat and give it a toss to coat it. Then add some salt and pepper. I usually do this twice. Once now and again after I have stirred it once.
Then cover your skillet and cook on medium heat till done. I usually think this takes about 25 minutes, but may vary. Uncover and stir every so often to make sure all sides of the meat cook evenly.
Do not let this cook dry or your meat will be dry. Add some water if you need to. When you are done you will have wonderfully flavored beef tips that you cooked in less than 1/2 hour!
